Second Central and Eastern European Aviation Forum CEAF 2010 “AIR TRANSPORT IN EXTENDED EUROPE - NEW TRENDS AND CHALLENGES”
Warsaw, Hotel Radisson Blu Centrum

The leading theme of the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Aviation Forum CEAF 2010 will be the vision of development of air transport market in the coming years, particularly in our part of Europe. The organizers are placing special emphasis on presenting demand trends generated by the ever changing needs of today’s client. High level of the Forum is guaranteed by our program partner, Ernst & Young – the world renowned consulting firm.
The first CEAF Forum organized in 2006 was very successful primarily due to the high quality of presentations and panel discussions. The main theme was: “Situation of Civil Aviation in Eastern and Central Europe One Year After the European Union Expansion – Trends and Forecast”. The most important issues at that time were reviewed, among others, by: President of LOT Polish Airlines, Krzysztof Kapis, President of Ryanair, Michael O’Leary, President of Wizzair, Jozsef Varadi and Vice President of Lufthansa, dr Holger Haetty. This year’s Forum should be even more interesting, as we are currently going through an exceptional time in the history of the European airline industry. Consolidation processes among the traditional air carriers are taking place faster than ever before. A similar trend can be observed among the low cost airlines. The role of airline alliances is changing. The charter market is going through numerous changes. Competition between airports has become fiercer. Many airports in the region need to verify their ambitions of becoming a regional hub. The business and legal environment of ground services companies is undergoing changes. All these developments have been affected by the economic crisis, which has had a particular impact on the airline industry.
We have invited the most prominent airline industry practitioners and market analysts to conduct presentations and take part in panel discussions. We will ask them to answer the most important questions regarding the vision of upcoming developments:
- What will the European aviation market look like in 5-10 years?
- Is the unique character of Central and Eastern European markets fading away?
- How far reaching will the consolidation processes be in particular segments of airline business (traditional airlines, low cost carriers)?
- Will the competition between traditional and low cost carriers extend to new areas?
- What is the future of the charter market? Will this market be served to a further extent by low cost carriers and hybrid airlines?
- What opportunities and threats do the new generation aircraft like A380, B787, the E170/190 family and Q400 bring to the region’s airlines?
- What effect will the growing competition of airports bring?
- Will the airports intensify their specialization processes aiming at serving one type of airline traffic?
We have invited the following people and companies to participate in the 2010 CEAF Forum:
- representatives of the central and local governments, responsible for the development of air transport system,
- airlines,
